山西财经大学是经山西省人民政府批准、教育部备案的全日制本科普通高等学校。[1]山西财经大学始建于1951年，前身是山西省银行干部学校、商业干部学校、供销合作干部学校、财政干部学校和粮食干部学校。1958年9月五所干部学校合并成立山西财经学院；1984年12月成立山西经济管理学院；1997年10月，山西财经学院和山西经济管理学院合并组建山西财经大学。[1]据2019年1月学校官网显示，学校分坞城、迎泽和平阳三校区办学，校园占地面积1956亩（含东山校区），建筑面积近60万平方米，设有21个教学单位、10个实体型科研机构和35个非实体型科研机构，有1个博士后科研流动站，4个一级学科博士学位授权点，8个一级学科硕士学位授权点，4个二级学科硕士学位授权点，16个专业硕士学位授权点，58个本科专业，有教职工近1700人，有本科生17000余人，硕士研究生3400余人，博士研究生130余人，继续教育学生9000余人，留学生14人。

Shanxi University of Finance and Economics (SHFE) is a full-time undergraduate institution of higher learning approved by the Peoples Government of Shanxi Province and registered by the Ministry of Education. [1] Shanxi University of Finance and Economics was founded in 1951, formerly known as Shanxi Bank Cadre School, Commercial Cadre School, Supply and Marketing Cooperation Cadre School, Finance Cadre School and Grain Cadre School. In September 1958, five cadre schools were merged to form Shanxi Institute of Finance and Economics. In December 1984, Shanxi College of Economics and Management was established. In October 1997, Shanxi Institute of Finance and Economics and Shanxi Institute of Economics and Management merged to form Shanxi University of Finance and Economics. [1] According to the official website of the university in January 2019, the university is divided into three campuses: Wucheng, Yingze and Pingyang. The campus covers an area of 1956 mu (including Dongshan campus), with a construction area of nearly 600,000 square meters. There are 21 teaching units, 10 physical scientific research institutions and 35 non-physical scientific research institutions, and 1 post-doctoral research mobile station. There are 4 doctorate programs in the first-level disciplines, 8 masters programs in the first-level disciplines, 4 masters programs in the second-level disciplines, 16 professional masters programs, 58 undergraduate programs, and nearly 1,700 faculty members, including more than 17,000 undergraduates, more than 3,400 masters students and more than 130 doctoral students. There are more than 9000 students in continuing education, including 14 overseas students.
